The Space Coast Vipers and the Cocoa Tigers squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but sadly the Space Coast Vipers had to settle for second. They fell 60-47 to the Tigers. Space Coast's defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Space Coast saw an underclassman step up: Phillayjah Carroll scored 15 points. Carroll has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times she's played. Taylor Hill was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Samaria Glenn had an outrageously good game for Cocoa as she scored 13 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Vahndrecia Orange, who scored nine points.
Space Coast's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-8. As for Cocoa, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season.
Space Coast does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cocoa, they will take on Palm Bay at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Palm Bay knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Cocoa likes a good challenge.
