The Imagine School at North Port Sharks will take on the Evangelical Christian Sentinels at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Imagine School at North Port is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.7 points per game this season.
Imagine School at North Port will head into Wednesday's contest out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Wednesday. They took a blow against Cardinal Mooney, falling 78-41. The Sharks have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Imagine School at North Port had strong showings from Jordan Kirkus, who posted ten points, and Wesley Woods, who scored eight points. Ethan Gardner was another key player, putting up four points.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Evangelical Christian). Everything went their way against The Village School of Naples on Friday as Evangelical Christian made off with a 74-49 win. The victory was nothing new for the Sentinels as they're now sitting on three straight.
Evangelical Christian found their leader in sophomore Zachary St. John, who went 8 of 14 en route to 24 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points St. John has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of David Morris, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 14 points and eight boards.
Evangelical Christian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.4 points per game. As for Imagine School at North Port, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Imagine School at North Port and Evangelical Christian are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Imagine School at North Port hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 59.7 points per game. However, it's not like Evangelical Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 56.1 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Imagine School at North Port took their win against Evangelical Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 56-36. Will Imagine School at North Port repeat their success, or does Evangelical Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
