The Tri-County North Panthers will be taking part in a tournament against the Fairlawn Jets at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Tri-County North has three straight wins, Fairlawn has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Tri-County North's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Botkins as they made off with a 12-0 victory. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by nine runs or more this season.
Alyssa Arnett was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, Jordan Pinion was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two triples, two stolen bases, and two runs. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bella Cherry, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
Tri-County North was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Fairlawn fell victim to Franklin Monroe and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against Franklin Monroe, falling 16-0. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, Fairlawn's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Amara Dewberry and Avah Roediger did some serious damage despite the final result: Dewberry went 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Roediger got on base in three of her five plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases. Maddy Miller was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Tri-County North's win bumped their record up to 14-7. As for Fairlawn, their loss dropped their record down to 4-15.
Fairlawn's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Tri-County North has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.1 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Fairlawn, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.9 strikeouts. Will Tri-County North keep running through batters, or will the Jets buck the trend?
