The Hollis-Brookline Cavaliers will head out on the road to square off against the Pelham Pythons at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hollis-Brookline is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
While Hollis-Brookline didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past Milford 11-0 on Monday. The matchup marked the Cavaliers' most dominant win of the season so far.

Dylan Morelli made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Thomas Howie, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season. Another player making a difference was Connor Gryniewicz, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Hollis-Brookline always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .541 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Pelham came out on top against Merrimack Valley on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run seventh inning. The Pythons took their game against the Pride 7-2. The Pythons' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Jake Davidson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on two hits.
At the plate, James Patchen was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Muise, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
The victory got Pelham back to even at 2-2. As for Hollis-Brookline, their record is now 4-0.
Pelham's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hollis-Brookline hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .400. It's a different story for Pelham, though, as they've only averaged .200. Will they be able to contain Hollis-Brookline's hitters?
Hollis-Brookline came up short against Pelham in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, falling 9-6. Can the Cavaliers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
