The Marshall County Marshals will venture away from home to square off against the Logan County Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Marshall County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
Murray hit Marshall County with a four-run second inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Marshals came up short against the Tigers, falling 6-0. Marshals fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Tigers since Thursday.

Hayden Gray spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Marshall County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kannon Dunn, who went 1-for-3 with one double.
Meanwhile, Logan County had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Colonels, sneaking past 6-4.
Mason Hancock made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Hancock was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Landon Gregory, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Lyndon Wilson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.
This is the second loss in a row for Marshall County and nudges their season record down to 13-6. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games. As for Logan County, their record now sits at 14-11.
