Baseball Recap: IMG Academy Gray Finds Home Field Redemption Against Badin

There's no place like home for IMG Academy Gray, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over the Badin Rams on Friday.

Yonghoon Lee was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Smith, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

IMG Academy Gray has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Badin, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Looking ahead, IMG Academy Gray is taking a road trip to take on Barron Collier at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Badin, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Chaminade Julienne Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The game will give the Rams their first taste of in-conference action this season.
