The Conrad Chargers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They took a hard 58-40 fall against West Mesquite. Conrad has struggled against the Wranglers recently, as their match on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Conrad saw an underclassman step up: Quentin Kirkland scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marion Belleh, who scored four points along with two steals.
Conrad has not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-16 record this season. As for West Mesquite, they pushed their record up to 22-7 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home.
Conrad will take on the Dragons at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Seagoville presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Chargers in Texas (the Dragons are ranked 310th, while the Chargers are ranked 882nd). As for West Mesquite, they will head out on the road to face off against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
