After a string of four wins, Mica Mountain's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the ALA - Queen Creek Patriots by a score of 5-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-5 back in March.
Evan Wheeler was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run.
