Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hickory Ridge). They blew past the Cox Mill Chargers 77-40 on Tuesday. The Ragin' Bulls have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matchups by 22 points or more this season.
Hickory Ridge's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amya Leathers, who went 9-for-15 on her way to 23 points in addition to five assists and four steals. What's more, Leathers also posted a 60% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in November of 2024. Ma-Kaela Gidney was another key player, going 9-for-12 en route to 20 points and six steals.
Leathers wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Hickory Ridge was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cox Mill only racked up four assists.
Despite the loss, Cox Mill still got an impressive performance from Lauren Farrell, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 15 boards. Farrell has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 18 times she's played.
Hickory Ridge has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points over those games. As for Cox Mill, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-15.
