Clewiston is on a seven-game streak of home wins, while LaBelle is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Clewiston Tigers will take on the LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Wednesday, Clewiston came up short against Okeechobee and fell 31-21. Clewiston has struggled against Okeechobee recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Kalyn Johnson, who scored eight points along with four steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyra Fields, who scored two points along with 16 rebounds.
Meanwhile, LaBelle was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 53-48 to Lely.
Clewiston's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3. As for LaBelle, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.
Things could have been worse for Clewiston, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 40-22 loss to LaBelle when the teams last played back in November of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of LaBelle's Marissa Burchard, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Now that Clewiston knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
