Sheldon and North Medford are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Sheldon Irish will stay at home for another game and welcome the North Medford Black Tornado at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard on Friday.
Last Tuesday, everything came up roses for Sheldon at home against Willamette as the team secured a 82-44 win. That looming 82-44 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Sheldon yet this season.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but North Medford ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Grants Pass and snuck past 63-60. Winning may never get old, but North Medford sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
North Medford's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Houston Klug, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Klug hasn't dropped below 16 points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Rohan Aulakh, who scored 17 points.
Sheldon's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for North Medford, their victory bumped their record up to 8-13.
Sheldon beat North Medford 59-51 when the teams last played back in January. Will Sheldon repeat their success, or does North Medford have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
