McLoud is 10-0 against Holdenville since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The McLoud Redskins will head out on the road to face off against the Holdenville Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but McLoud ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They snuck past Okemah with a 67-63 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Meanwhile, Holdenville didn't have too much trouble with Little Axe at home on Friday as they won 71-54. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Holdenville.
Among those leading the charge was Kase Sipes, who scored 28 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Holdenville's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mike Piza, who scored 11 points.
The wins kept both teams' perfect 2-0 season records intact.
Everything came up roses for McLoud against Holdenville when the teams last played back in December of 2022 as the team secured a 82-42 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for McLoud since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
