The Horizon Hawks will face off against the Winter Park Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Horizon has four straight victories, Winter Park has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Addison Lamb made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Maryn Neely was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while going 3-for-4. Lila Hernandez was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 1-for-4.
Horizon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Winter Park lost 11-4 to Winter Springs on Wednesday.
Winter Park saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylie Scanlon, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Reese Fleming also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Horizon pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Winter Park, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
Winter Park's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Horizon has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .443.
