The University Trailblazers won the last time they faced the Indianapolis Shortridge Blue Devils, and things went their way on Thursday too. University walked away with a 49-40 win over Indianapolis Shortridge. The victory made it back-to-back wins for University.
Leading University to victory were Mackenzie Feeney and Charlotte Conyers. Feeney dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds, while Conyers scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Feeney has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Anyah Jordan-Turley, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Indianapolis Shortridge lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jocelyn Eskew, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Keara Stewart, who scored 13 points.
University has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. As for Indianapolis Shortridge, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.
University will be playing in front of their home fans against Bethesda Christian at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bethesda Christian is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Indianapolis Shortridge, they will take on Anderson Prep Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Anderson Prep Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Wednesday.
