The White Knoll Timberwolves will be playing in front of their home fans against the Chapin Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. White Knoll is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
Last Friday, White Knoll faced Lexington in a battle between two of the state's top teams. White Knoll didn't even let Lexington onto the board and left with a 16-0 victory.
The critical scores for White Knoll came from Austin Cunningham and Landon Sharpe.
White Knoll's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB six times. Leading the way was Lincoln Ilungampumbu and his three sacks.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 41-8, which was the final score in Chapin's tilt against Dutch Fork on Thursday. Chapin was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 20-0.
Chapin's defeat came about despite a quality game from Jacob Nerone, who picked up 96 receiving yards and a touchdown.
White Knoll's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-7 Orangeburg-Wilkinson and 1-7 Lancaster (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 35% over those games). As for Chapin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday' game: White Knoll has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 150.2 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Chapin, though, as they've been averaging only 60 per game. How will Chapin fare against such a dominant running game?
