Football Recap: Jayda Emil and Miranda Reiter Pace Arbor View Defense

If Arbor View was riding high fresh off their 43-0 takedown of Rancho last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Arbor View Aggies fell 33-24 to the Bishop Gorman Gaels on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Aggies in their matchups with the Gaels: they've now lost four in a row.

Despite the defeat, Arbor View saw an underclassman step up: freshman Priscilla Garcia threw for 248 yards and four touchdowns. That's the most passing yards Garcia has posted since back in December of 2024.

Arbor View didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jayda Emil and Miranda Reiter. Karah Foss was another major factor on D, making 12 total tackles and defending one pass.

Arbor View's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Bishop Gorman, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

Arbor View will square off against Desert Pines at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Arbor View is facing Desert Pines at the right time seeing as Desert Pines is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Bishop Gorman, they will face off against Desert Oasis at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Desert Oasis knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past 13 games -- so hopefully Bishop Gorman likes a good challenge.
