Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Bald Eagle Area Bald Eagles walked away with it. They blew past the Rams 49-0 at home. Considering Bald Eagle Area has won nine games by more than 21 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Leading Bald Eagle Area to victory were Carson Nagle and Cameron Dubbs. Nagle threw for 301 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per attempt, while Dubbs rushed for 62 yards and four touchdowns. Camron Watkins was another key contributor, picking up 129 receiving yards and a touchdown.
The win was the sixth in a row for Bald Eagle Area, bringing their record for this year to 12-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.8 points per game. As for Richland, their loss dropped their record down to 11-2.
Bald Eagle Area will head out on the road to face off against Southern Columbia Area at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Southern Columbia Area is on a seven-game streak of home wins, Bald Eagle Area a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field. Richland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
