After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Christian Family Academy, the Challenger Firebirds were happy to have found some success on Friday. They snuck past Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy with a 57-51 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Challenger also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Challenger can attribute much of their success to Kendall Reinhardt, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 23 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Reinhardt has scored all season. Riley Annis was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Challenger's win bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Challenger will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Reynolds Mountain Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 22nd. Reynolds Mountain Christian Academy is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. As for Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Christian Family Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
