Basketball Recap: Lakeland Christian Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Colton Donahue and Joseph Donohue

If Lakeland Christian was riding high fresh off their 59-21 takedown of Ridgeview Global Studies Academy last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lakeland Christian Vikings lost to the Seffner Christian Crusaders at home by a 82-65 margin on Monday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (59), the Vikings still had to take the loss.

Lakeland Christian's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Joseph Donohue, who went 9 for 20 on his way to 21 points and five rebounds, and Colton Donahue, who went 9 of 22 on his way to 23 points. With that strong performance, Donohue is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of DJ Howard, who posted 13 points and five assists.

Lakeland Christian's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Seffner Christian, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

Lakeland Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Fort Meade at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Fort Meade's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches. As for Seffner Christian, they will face off against Winthrop College Prep Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
