Basketball Recap: Temple Christian Skates Past Christian Heritage Academy with Ease

Temple Christian won the last time they faced Christian Heritage Academy and things went their way on Friday too. The Temple Christian Crusaders blew past the Christian Heritage Academy Knights 63-34. Given the Crusaders' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while the Knights are ranked 217th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Temple Christian to victory were Carter Cash and Silas Walker. Cash went 12 of 20 on his way to 26 points, while Walker went 6 for 13 on his way to 17 points. The dominant performance gave Cash a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Reno, who posted seven points.

When it comes to explaining why Christian Heritage Academy lost, don't look at Luke Mason. Despite the final result, he went 11 of 17 on his way to 25 points and five rebounds.

Temple Christian is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.5 points per game. As for Christian Heritage Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Temple Christian will venture away from home to challenge United Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Christian Heritage Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-48 defeat against Boys' Home on the 14th.
