The Harlan Falcons were the 33-26 winner over the DuSable Panthers when they last played one another back in March of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. Harlan had to suffer through a rough 35-4 loss at the hands of DuSable.
Damaya Plant was her usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with four steals for DuSable. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for her. Lanae Harris was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Harlan's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-6. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 9.0 points per game. As for DuSable, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-3.
Harlan will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Air Force Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 12, 2024. After both having extra time off, DuSable and Bowen will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 5:00 p.m. on January 12, 2024. Bowen's defense has only allowed 22 points per game this season, so DuSable's offense will have their work cut out for DuSable.
