Gardena's Simmons is a mere 95 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season.
A big matchup in Marine this week will be when the Pirates take on Manuel Douglas' team. San Pedro is in third place, while the Gauchos are in first place.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Mike Walsh's team takes on Narbonne. The Pirates have allowed 90 points this season, while the Gauchos have given up 59. San Pedro allowed 57 points last week as it fell to Carson.
