The Clearview Clippers will head out on the road to face off against the South Range Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Clearview comes in on four and South Range on ten.
With a playoff game on the line, Clearview rose to the challenge on Friday. They had just enough and edged Norwayne out 19-16.
Clearview's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Keith Colvin, who punched in a rushing score, and also picked up 75 receiving yards. Ethan Lorenzana was another key contributor, throwing for 98 yards and two touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes.
Another reason for the win was Clearview's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Leading the way was Isaac Dandrea and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, South Range put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Ridgewood, posting a 35-0 victory at home. Given South Range's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 52nd, while Ridgewood is ranked 227th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Clearview's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for South Range, their win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1.
