Softball Recap: Joshua Has No Trouble Against Burleson

Joshua lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Burleson, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's game. The Owls blew past the Elks 16-4 on Thursday. The Owls might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by eight runs or more this season.

Leilanie Sam was a standout: she fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Zaylee Masters was another key player, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double.

Joshua always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Burleson only posted an OBP of .429.

Joshua is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Burleson, they moved to 21-6 with that defeat, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Joshua nor the Elks have any future games scheduled.
