C1 District 8 recap October 8, 2013
O'Neill made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,884 from 8,377. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 40-0 victory over Ainsworth last week.
Broken Bow led C1 District 8 in scoring this week after putting up 59 points on St. Paul.
Kamron Dawe was a key player and the best on defense this week as Ord beat Valentine. He forced 1 fumble.
David Fox was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 24 carries, he ran for 132 yards as the Eagles bested Valentine. Charley Burtwistle also contributed to the rushing game with 45 yards on the ground.
Ord's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Chanticleers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Trevor Fahrenholz has thrown for 531 yards and 4 touchdowns this season, while Eli Hill has 17 catches for 183 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Ord takes on the Indians. Mark Hagge's team is in first place, while Broken Bow is in third place.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Chanticleers take on Mike Garner's team. Ord has allowed 46 points this season, while the Indians have given up 42. The Chanticleers allowed 7 points last week as they topped Craig Schmeckpeper's team.
