The El Dorado Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their seventh straight loss. They took a serious blow against Kapaun Mt. Carmel, falling 81-34. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points El Dorado has scored all season.
Defeat or not, El Dorado got some senior leadership from Logan Garner and Trace Fowler. Garner scored 15 points, while Fowler. scored five points. That was a full 44.1% of El Dorado's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
El Dorado bumped their record down to 1-7 with that loss, which was their 14th straight at home. As for Kapaun Mt. Carmel, their win bumped their record up to 9-1.
El Dorado won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Collegiate at 2:30 p.m. on January 19th. Collegiate presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than El Dorado in Kansas (Collegiate is ranked 112th, while El Dorado is ranked 279th). Kapaun Mt. Carmel's road trip will continue as they head out to face North on January 23rd. North is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
