The McClintock Chargers will face off against the Alhambra Lions at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Alhambra's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Friday: McClintock hadn't allowed a single run the last four times they've hit the field. The Chargers' pitchers stepped up to hand Central a 13-0 shutout on Wednesday. The Chargers haven't had any issues with the Bobcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Javier Alvarado was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because McClintock is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Alvarado was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.
In other batting news, Elias Baldwin was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-1. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Valiant Spanko was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases.
Meanwhile, Alhambra made easy work of Carl Hayden Community on Wednesday and carried off an 11-3 victory. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by six runs or more this season.
Kevin Isaac spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 12 Ks.
On the hitting side, Christopher Martinez was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Nicolas Reyes, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Alhambra is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for McClintock, their victory bumped their record up to 12-7.
McClintock might still be hurting after the 13-4 loss they got from Alhambra in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Will the Chargers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
