The Claxton Tigers fell victim to the Screven County Gamecocks''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a serious blow against the Gamecocks, falling 28-0. Claxton has struggled against Screven County recently, as their game on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Screven County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kashard Prescott out in front who rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. Ryan Barnes also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
Claxton has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for Screven County, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-5.
