It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 14-62, which was the final score in Stewartsville/Osborn's tilt against Southwest/Hale/Tina-Avalon last Friday. Sophomore Cain Rush and senior Cole Bryant were two go-getters for Stewartsville/Osborn despite the loss. The former passed for 158 yards and 2 touchdowns, while the latter caught passes for 81 yards and 2 touchdowns. In fact, with nine tackles Bryant was a force on both sides of the ball.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for South Holt/Nodaway-Holt against DeKalb as the team secured a 82-36 win. South Holt/Nodaway-Holt were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
South Holt/Nodaway-Holt's victory lifted them to 2-3 while Stewartsville/Osborn's defeat dropped them down to 1-4. Stewartsville/Osborn's offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a South Holt/Nodaway-Holt defensive front that amassed ten sacks against DeKalb, so we'll see if they are up to the task.
