The Saint Stephen's Episcopal Falcons had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Boca Raton Christian 56-13 on the road. Winning may never get old, but Saint Stephen's Episcopal sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Evan Brown continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 260 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 12.4 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 142 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. Brown hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for four straight games. Tommy Macarthur did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 26 receiving yards.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Boca Raton Christian to a paltry 221 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Saint Stephen's Episcopal's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out six times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Jacob S clulow and his 3.5 sacks.
Despite the loss, Boca Raton Christian still got an impressive performance from Brady Wall, who picked up 122 receiving yards and a touchdown. Wall was no stranger to the big play, connecting with a big catch that went for 60 yards.
Saint Stephen's Episcopal's win was their third straight on the road , which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.3 points per game. As for Boca Raton Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.
Saint Stephen's Episcopal will look to defend their home field on Friday against Oasis at 7:00 p.m. Oasis is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Boca Raton Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
