Chinle has gone a perfect 10-0 against Window Rock recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Wildcats will look to defend their home field against the Fighting Scouts at 4:00 p.m. Chinle is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.
Chinle's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Monument Valley 11-0. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 21, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Mackaden Arthur and Covington Jones were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Arthur tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Jones tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave Arthur a new career-high in strikeouts (five). At bat, Arthur scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while Jones scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Arthur has become a key player for Chinle: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 3-8 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hage Tsosie, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three RBI. Chinle is undefeated when Tsosie posts two or more stolen bases, but 5-8 otherwise. Kennon Sorrell was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
Chinle was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Monument Valley only posted a batting average of .000.
Meanwhile, Window Rock didn't have quite enough to beat Tuba City on Saturday and fell 10-9.
Adriano Westbrook was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring four runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Landyn Davis, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 3-for-5.
Window Rock has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Chinle, their win bumped their record up to 10-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Chinle has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Window Rock struggles in that department as they've been averaging 11.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Chinle's way against Window Rock when the teams last played back in March, as Chinle made off with a 17-1 victory. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Fighting Scouts turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
