After three games on the road, Sebeka is heading back home. They will take on the Pine River-Backus Tigers at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Monday, things could have been worse for Sebeka, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 58-44 loss to Underwood. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sebeka in their matchups with Underwood: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the loss, Sebeka saw an underclassman step up: Max Lake scored 14 points along with nine steals. Lake has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Zack Thornton, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Pine River-Backus pushed their score all the way to 57 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 71-57 to Bertha-Hewitt. Pine River-Backus has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Sebeka has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Pine River-Backus, they have fallen quite a ways from their 18-8 record last season and are now at 3-8.
