The Grant County Braves will challenge the Dixie Heights Colonels at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Grant County will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
Grant County gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. Everything went their way against Bracken County as they made off with a 16-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Braves, who have now won nine games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Seth Tucker and James Ely did most of the damage at the plate: Tucker got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs, while Ely went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Grant County is 9-1 when Tucker posts two or more runs, but 1-5 otherwise. Kullen Fryman was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Grant County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .450. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Dixie Heights fell victim to Walton-Verona and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Bearcats, falling 9-0. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Colonels' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Dixie Heights' defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 7-12-1. As for Grant County, their win bumped their record up to 10-6.
Dixie Heights' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Grant County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .354. It's a different story for Dixie Heights, though, as they've only averaged .218. Will they be able to contain Grant County's hitters?
