The Western Alamance Warriors will face off against the Scotland Fighting Scots on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Western Alamance is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They blew past North Brunswick 13-3. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Warriors considering their one-run performance the match before.
Addison Beal spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on ten hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Bayleigh Burris, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two stolen bases. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ryan Justice, who went 3-for-5 with four runs and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Western Alamance kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 7-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Scotland entered their tilt with West Brunswick on Tuesday with 22 consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 23. They didn't even let the Trojans on the board, marking their second-straight 10-0 shutout. The Fighting Scots' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last four contests.
Dawson Blue was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Addison Johnson was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI.
Scotland's win was their 13th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Western Alamance, their win bumped their record up to 12-10.
Friday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Western Alamance has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .465. However, it's not like Scotland struggles in that department as they've averaged .485. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Western Alamance's way against Scotland in their previous matchup back in May of 2023, as Western Alamance made off with a 12-0 victory. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Fighting Scots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
