Littleton hasn't had much luck against Golden recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Lions will be playing at home against the Demons at 4:30 p.m.
Littleton is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Pomona.
Littleton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eli Jacobs, who went 1-for-3 with one run.
Meanwhile, Golden waltzed into their match on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They never let the Gators get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The Demons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.
Golden also got a great performance from Sawyer Brinkman as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Brinkman has posted since back in March.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jaydon Stroup, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Liam Leffert was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Golden always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Standley Lake only posted an OBP of .000.
Golden's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Littleton, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.
Littleton might still be hurting after the 14-0 defeat they got from Golden in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
