Menno/Marion had to hit the road for their first game, and unfortunately the road hit them back. They were given a punishing 6-52 loss at the hands of Canistota/Freeman. If Menno/Marion were hoping for some payback for the 8-46 loss against Canistota/Freeman the last time the two teams met, then they were disappointed.
Menno/Marion got a solid performance out of junior Gavin Pankratz, who passed for 172 yards and 1 touchdown; unfortuately, it just wasn't enough for the win. This was the first contest for both squads, starting they off on the wrong foot at 0-1, while giving Canistota/Freeman a 1-0 record.
Next week, Menno/Marion take on Viborg/Hurley at 7:00 PM. As for Canistota/Freeman, they will face of against Howard.
