Mission Valley recap November 13, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in Mission Valley this week, Arroyo beat Rosemead 17-13. The victory was the ninth in a row for the team.
Gabrielino took down El Monte 56-28 last week, the largest margin of any game. Elijah Peters threw for 326 yards and 7 touchdowns and ran for 61 yards in the win.
Jose Moreno was a force in the backfield as Mountain View topped South El Monte.
He was 16-27 with 0 interceptions.
Moreno was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 23 carries, he ran for 232 yards as the Vikings defeated the Panthers. Teammate Cris Cervantes added to the ground attack by rushing for 89 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Jim Singiser's team's Nathan Coto and Lozano have proven to be a lethal combination. 5-11 quarterback Coto has thrown for 2,568 yards this season, while Lozano has 47 catches for 1,093 yards. Moreno from Mountain View leads the league in rushing with 1,697 yards.
Randy Amezcua of the the Knights is just 35 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Amezcua has rushed for 965 yards on 157 carries so far this year.
Arroyo and Rosemead played the closest game in Mission Valley this week, with Arroyo eventually emerging with a 17-13 victory. Coto threw for 263 yards and 2 touchdowns during the win.
