On Tuesday, East Coweta beat Redan 59-50. Given East Coweta's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 144th, while Redan is ranked 298th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Qwes Williams, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Carby Martin was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with two steals.
Redan lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jamir Brown, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Zion Green, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for East Coweta and bumps their season record up to 13-11. As for Redan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Coweta will take on Campbell at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. East Coweta has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 856 points over their last 13 matches. As for Redan, they will head out on the road to face off against Callaway at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
