Timpanogos and Provo are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2017, but not for long. The Timberwolves will challenge the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Timpanogos came up short against Mountain View on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Timberwolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
The final score came out to 25-15, 25-15, 25-12.
Despite the defeat, Timpanogos had strong showings from Elsie Hampton, who had 11 digs and one assist, and Brecken Jorgenson, who had six digs and two aces.
Meanwhile, Provo came up short against Orem on Tuesday and fell 3-1.
Provo couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Orem a tough time in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 30-28, 19-25, 25-16.
Provo's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Timpanogos, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-19.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's contest: Timpanogos has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7.9 aces per game. However, it's not like Provo struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.7 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Timpanogos might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Provo in their previous meeting back in September. Can the Timberwolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
