The American Patriots scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 54-39 win over Sunset. The victory made it back-to-back wins for American.
American got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Karissa Perrier out in front who scored 17 points along with four steals. That's the first time this season that Perrier scored 15 or more points. Lajahnique Olive was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with three steals.
Sunset lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Esmeralda Santana, who scored nine points along with six rebounds. Those six rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Bianca Pancheco, who scored 18 points along with six steals and five rebounds.
Even though they lost, Sunset were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
American now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Sunset, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. American will be home for the holidays to greet Jackson at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Sunset will be home for the holidays to greet TERRA Environmental at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully TERRA Environmental focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday.
