Jerome hasn't had much luck against Twin Falls recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Bruins at 2:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Jerome was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Mountain Home on Thursday. Jerome blew past Mountain Home 10-2. The high-scoring effort was just what Jerome needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.
Taiten Van Tassell was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Orozco, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Twin Falls came tearing into Thursday's game with 11 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.9 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 25-2 victory. Considering the Bruins have won 13 contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Cameron Reyes made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Reyes was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Jaxson Kasel looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Twin Falls got a massive performance out of Treyson Walker, who went 3-for-4 with six RBI, three runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that Walker has hit this season. Conner Lee was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs.
Jerome's record is now 9-12. As for Twin Falls, their record now sits at 21-4.
Jerome couldn't quite get it done against Twin Falls in their previous matchup on April 7th as they fell 9-6. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
