Even though the Community Vikings/Viqueens have not done well against the Huntland Hornets recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Community narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Huntland 50-47. That's another feather in the cap for Community, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Community to victory, but perhaps none more so than Anna Haskins, who scored 17 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Haskins has scored at least 25% of Community's points. Brooklyn Yoes was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 6 rebounds.
The victory got Community back to even at 3-3. As for Huntland, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Community and Eagleville will face off at 6:00 p.m. on December 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Eagleville is ranked 109th, while Community is ranked 89th). Huntland will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Culleoka at 6:00 p.m. on December 4th.
