Manteca hasn't had much luck against Central Catholic recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Buffaloes will take on the Raiders at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Manteca is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Oakdale 8-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Buffaloes.

Manteca let Bella Cooper and Sienna Owen run wild. Cooper went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run, while Owen went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those three RBI gave Cooper a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maleiah Garza, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs.
Meanwhile, Central Catholic got themselves on the board against Vista del Lago on Friday, but Vista del Lago never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Eagles. The victory was nothing new for the Raiders as they're now sitting on five straight.
Central Catholic also got a great performance from Stephanie Garcia as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Garcia has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Carsyn Lomeli and Samantha Nichols did most of the damage at the plate: Lomeli went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Nichols went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Lomeli has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Taryn Calderon, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run.
Central Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in five consecutive matchups.
Central Catholic pushed their record up to 25-5 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Manteca, their record now sits at 21-8.
Manteca might still be hurting after the 8-0 defeat they got from Central Catholic in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Buffaloes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
