The Rock Falls Rockets will head out on the road to square off against the Bureau Valley Storm at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Rock Falls focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Wednesday.
Rock Falls fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 52-22 win over North Boone. Rock Falls pushed the score to 50-14 by the end of the third, a deficit North Boone cut but never quite recovered from.
Rock Falls can attribute much of their success to Elizabeth Lombardo, who scored 12 points along with four steals, and Claire Bickett, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicolette Udell, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Bureau Valley's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight defeat. They fell just short of Princeton by a score of 54-52.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Taylor Neuhalfen, who scored 16 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Kate Salisbury, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Rock Falls has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-21 record this season. As for Bureau Valley, they now have a losing record at 14-15.
