Softball Recap: Roncalli Has No Trouble Against Oak Forest

Roncalli was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Oak Forest on Saturday. The Royals were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Bengals. The result was nothing new for the Royals, who have now won eight contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

Addy Poe made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Poe was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bennie Leffler, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Carley Keller was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Roncalli kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matchups.

Roncalli's victory bumped their record up to 13-2. As for Oak Forest, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-9.

Roncalli wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 5-1 win against Benet Academy on the 3rd. As for Oak Forest, they have also already played their next contest, a 6-0 defeat against Rock Island on the 3rd.
