Northern Lights recap October 8, 2013
Soldotna added to the longest winning streak in Northern Lights this week by beating Kenai Central, 58-10. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Stars.
Skyview fell to Kodiak 61-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Homer's Sheldon Hutt and Joseph Cardoza have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-5 quarterback Hutt has thrown for 551 yards this season, while Cardoza has 9 catches for 180 yards. Jace Daniels from the Kardinals leads the league in rushing with 1,153 yards.
The most important game in the league this week will be the match up between Soldotna and Houston. Galen Brantley, Jr.'s team comes into the matchup ranked first in the state, while the Hawks ranks 23rd.
The Stars made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 1,423 from 2,191. The improvement was the result of a 58-10 victory over Kenai Central last week.
