The Aquinas Knights lost against the Dover Crimson Tornadoes back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Aquinas opened the new year with a less-than-successful 38-26 defeat to Dover. While losing is never fun, Aquinas can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 604th, while Dover is ranked 196th).
Despite the loss, Aquinas still got an impressive performance from Paris Everett, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. Giannah Burick was another key contributor, scoring no points along with six assists and five steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Aquinas and nudges their season record down to 4-7. As for Dover, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.
Aquinas will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Southeast at 7:00 p.m. Southeast is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Dover, they will head out on the road to face off against New Philadelphia at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. New Philadelphia is on a five-game streak of home losses, Dover a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
