Baseball Game Preview: Socastee Braves vs. North Myrtle Beach Chiefs

For the second straight game, Socastee will face off against North Myrtle Beach. Socastee will face off against North Myrtle Beach at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Socastee has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with four straight losses, while North Myrtle Beach will come in with five straight wins.

Monday just wasn't the day for Socastee's offense. They fell 3-0 to North Myrtle Beach on Monday. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Braves were not able to get on the board.

Luke Johnson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Socastee saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jimmy Cocca, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base. Gavin Hartas also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

North Myrtle Beach's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Socastee, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
