The Grand County Red Devils will square off against the Providence Hall Patriots at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Tuesday, Grand County made easy work of Monticello and carried off a 17-7 victory. Considering the Red Devils have won six contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Trace York made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Grand County is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-9 otherwise. York was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jt Dowd, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Ean Ellis, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run.
Grand County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are 4-2 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Providence Hall beat American Leadership Academy 10-7 on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.

Grand County is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Providence Hall, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6.
Everything went Grand County's way against Providence Hall in their previous matchup back in March of 2018, as Grand County made off with a 10-0 win. Do the Red Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Patriots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
