Calvert is a perfect 10-0 against St. Joseph Central Catholic since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Senecas will be playing at home against the Crimson Streaks at 5:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Calvert's favor as the squad sits on 18 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while St. Joseph Central Catholic has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Calvert barely beat Liberty-Benton the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Senecas blew past the Eagles 14-3 on Tuesday. The Senecas might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by seven runs or more this season.

Calvert got a great performance from Cohen Stull as he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. What's more, Stull posted five strikeouts, the most he's had over his last two contests.
On the hitting side, Calvert let Connor Moyer and Charlie Palm run wild. Moyer fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-3, while Palm went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two doubles. That's the most home runs Moyer has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Braxton Shoemaker, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, St. Joseph Central Catholic had just enough and edged out Northwood 4-3 on Monday. The Crimson Streaks haven't had any issues with the Rangers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Zach Ohms made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off nine hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. That double was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Drew Pearson was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Landen Thiessen, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.
St. Joseph Central Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northwood only posted a batting average of .241.
Calvert's victory bumped their record up to 12-1. As for St. Joseph Central Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 4-10.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Calvert has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like St. Joseph Central Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Calvert's way against St. Joseph Central Catholic in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, as Calvert made off with an 11-1 victory. Will the Senecas repeat their success, or do the Crimson Streaks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
